These Mushroom Goat Cheese Crostini are the perfect appetizer for any occasion—savory, creamy, and loaded with flavor. Quick to make and elegant to serve, they're a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil. Bake for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp. Set aside to cool slightly.
In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and mushrooms and cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and tender.
Add the thyme. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
Spread a generous layer of goat cheese onto each toasted baguette slice. Top with a spoonful of the warm mushrooms.
Garnish with a drizzle of balsamic glaze or a sprinkle of chives or microgreens, if desired.
Serve immediately, while the mushrooms are still warm and the bread is crisp.
Notes
For extra flavor, rub a cut garlic clove on the toasted bread before adding the goat cheese. You can make the toasted bread and mushroom mixture ahead of time, then assemble just before serving.
